Blinds

Roller up, roller down,
wind me up and twist me down.
Pull the cord, watch me go,
high up and low down, even in-between.
Shield the light, protect from sun,
keep night out, windows dressed.
Brightly coloured, patterned too,
edged with lace, tassles ’n’ stitches.
The blinds distinctive to the place.
Like the covers of a book, what’s inside ?
You always want to look.

Midnight, silent, delight.
Peaceful, watchful, never ending respite.
Cooling, calming, dreaming, slumber.
Alluring, magical, seductive, racing.
Velvet, darkness, black, moonlight.
Silver, stillness, night.
Vibrant, amber, gold, waking, chorus.
Midday, crescendo, live, electric, life !
