I have been busy today searching for inspiration on the web and have found a few interesting videos on you tube from Crafts Beautiful, which will at least give me an idea of what I should be doing to create Maxwell. But I see there are various techniques to creating felted animals. Crafts beautiful suggest building a basic shape using pipe cleaners and then wrapping the wool around and felting into place and shape.
I have also heard that you can build a felted animal by simply winding and felting a ball straight from the woollen fibres – this I think involves more investigation.
I also found a book by Gillian Harris called Complete Feltmaking – Easy Techniques and 25 Great Projects. I liked the book because it has features on Wet and Dry felting. Well there you go, I didn’t know there was a difference, something else for me to investigate I guess !
